Just thought it was about time, I started a page especially
for Card Making on Face Book.
Somewhere, where you can share your hobby, show off your
latest creation, and chat about your hobby, share your blog news, and sell any
unwanted card making goodies you no longer want. The group is closed, but
please feel free to invite friends, everyone is welcome. this would be a great
page to share any crafty buys you fine at good prices, Craft Classes or
Workshop news, if you read an interesting article about our hobby, or fine a
tutorial you felt was of benefit to you, please share it here,
If you have any Card Making questions, pop them on here,
and hopefully someone in the group will be able to answer them.
The motto is, if your learn something new share it.
Every time I do a class I get asked about the quality of the paper I use in my cards.
So have decided to give this one last plug
I buy my paper which is 160gsm from Office Spot.ie
Mathew has very kindly given me a direct link at a fantastic price €11.12 plus vat and postage €6.00
but if you spend over €60.00 plus vat you get free delivery
so why not get together as a group and split the order to save the postage which is minimal anyway. you need to order 6 packs to get free delivery.
there are 250 sheets in a pack, and it is the best quality super smooth paper for backgrounds, decoupage and inserts, at a fantastic price as I have seen this brand for as much as €47.00 on other well know office supply websites.
most of the image on the card were found on pinterest.
I have used a Tim Holtz Die for the mannequin, and some Tim Holtz old paper ink to age the background and mannequin,

My Fair Lady Dresses Hat Card 8 inch Scallop card
I had this card design in my head for about 3 months, and just couldn't find the right image, and when I described the image to a friend, (not a card maker) she suggested a Gainsborough hat was the style I needed, and an image of this Cd came up in a search on Google. it's Debbie Moore my Fair Lady Cd Rom.
Dressed 1920s Style Flapper Girl C5 Card
I wanted to create a dressed card ( by that I mean adding fabric and trim to the picture,) I made a tiny headband by plaiting ribbon, made a cluster of feathers, and added the heart button, we recreated the dress from ribbon, and added the tulle shawl, and self adhesive pearls for her necklace.
Back view of the card again there was such a lot of weight on the front of the card we chose a similar image, and matted and layered it to add weight to the back

A lots of the ladies were asking yesterday about Pinterest
I am only new to it myself, but it's a fantastic way to save all the lovely cards or images you find.
You can view images at any time ,but you need to join to save images, this saves you using space on your computer, and when you become familiar with Pinterest, you can open different boards with different titles, such as Baby Cards, Wedding Cards, Inspiration,
Vintage images ect,
When you join you download the pin it tool, which will appear at the top of your internet page, when your on a site and see a card or photo you like, click your pin it tool and a whole lot of boxes appear, just re-pin the images you like one at a time,to your board.
In the right hand column on my Blog you will see link into some of my boards and a link into Linda duke cards, and Amazing Paper Grace Cards,
But be careful Its very addictive, you will get lost in time just looking at all the amazing photos,
Here is the home page link to join HERE you can Join up using your facebook account or your email address, it really is very simple.
